Taiwan High Speed Rail – Software Assurance
Atkins was appointed by the Taiwan Shinkansen Corporation, the main contractor for all Core Systems requirements for the Taiwan High Speed Rail project to provide software assurance support covering all core systems (including Shinkansen 700T trainsets, electrification, signalling & train control, telecommunications, wayside E&M, and control centre). This commission required a full time team committed over four years of the project undertaking audit, assurance and management services against EN50128 and IEC61508 standards on three main Japanese suppliers and numerous developers and suppliers of software based subsystems.
