Hong Kong Airport Automated People Mover – Independent Checking of Software Based Systems
Atkins was appointed by the MTR Corporation (MTRC) on behalf of Iwasakijima Heavy Industries (IHI) to undertake Independent Checking of software based control systems for the Automatic People Mover Extension to Skyplaza at the Hong Kong International Airport . The systems included Computer Based Interlocking (CBI), Automatic Train Protection (ATP)/Train Describer System (TD), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Automatic Train Operation (ATO) (Ground based and On-Board), On board Public Address System (PA), and Power Distribution SCADA (PDS SCADA). Atkins was retained for Independent Checking of the Phase 2 extension to Skypier.

Taiwan High Speed Rail – Independent Checking of Signalling Interlocking
Atkins was appointed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to undertake Independent Checking of the Signalling Interlocking Control Tables for the 350kph Taiwan High Speed Line between Taipei and Kaohsiung . This included checking of over 4,500 control tables covering design for 15 interlocking areas in 16 sets of control table packages including 11 stations and 5 maintenance base / depot locations along the 345km alignment.
